Foster carers needed

We are recruiting new and experienced carers to join our highly successful team. The real satisfaction is in knowing you have made a real difference to a child's life, and that you are a 'building block' to a better future for some of our most vulnerable children in need.

Archway Care will provide:

  • Comprehensive preparation training
  • Ongoing training to NVQ level 3
  • 24 hour support, 365 days of the year
  • Group support with other foster carers
  • 14 nights paid respite per year
  • Very generous fostering allowances
  • Free membership of the Fostering Network

Foster carers will need to provide:

  • A spare room to care for a child in need
  • A child centred approach in caring for children and young people who are hard to place
  • Be able to care during the day for a child who has been excluded from school
  • Care for children and teenagers displaying challenging behaviour
  • An ongoing commitment to training and development
  • An ability to work in partnership with agencies involved in the care of children

Foster Carer Approval Process

Prospective foster carers have to undertake a Skills to Foster Preparation Course which is organised and run by Archway Care. Following successful completion of this course you will be allocated an assessment social worker who will complete a Comprehensive Form F1 assessment on your suitability to become a foster carer. This assessment will then be presented to our Fostering Panel for their consideration and recommendation on your terms of approval. If you are successful in being approved by our Fostering Panel we can then commence the process of family finding for you.
